Purchase Costs

When buying a property in Spain, as with most countries, there are extra costs above the sale price to take in to consideration.

  • 8% purchase taxes are due to be paid on the price agreed for the property
  • Notary fee = €600 – €700
  • Property registration fee = €500 – €700
  • Cost of lawyer should you require one would be minimum €900 upwards depending on property price.

Although in Spain you it’s not a requirement to use a lawyer, some clients still prefer to use one, Spanish people are happy to use just the notary public which is the legal requirement.
