Tony and I would never have been able to realise our dream without Anne-Marie and Zoe from Olvera Properties. We met them at A Place in the Sun in September 2014 and we hadn’t considered Olvera or Cadiz before but they were so nice and gave such a good feeling to us that on our viewing trip to the Granada region in November 2014 we diverted for few days to look around Olvera. They found us some where ideal to rent and we spent two days viewing with Anne-Marie. As we walked around the town she seemed to know and be on good terms with everyone and she lives there, so our good feeling were reinforced as we knew she was going to be honest and reliable as it was her home too. We saw our house on the first day and then went back for a second viewing on day two fully supported all the time and with lots of patience as we must have seen about 15 houses.
Zoe was also excellent as we offered and counter offered in December and we were delighted with the final price and deal. We exchanged in February and all the things you think of and many we hadn’t were taken Care of as we were led by the hand right the way through. We still rely on Anne-Marie and Mark her partner hugely as they translate letters, and arrange builders and jobs etc providing excellent support all the way that we absolutely trust. I would fully recommend Olvera Properties to anyone considering buying in Spain, even if you haven’t thought of Olvera before, everyone involved has been absolutely first class on every interaction.
Buying a house abroad is always an act of endeavouring. One always feels a bit ‘helpless’. There are other laws and rules, some extra procedures and formalities to take into account. One may browse the internet and think he is aware and well informed. Yet, when it comes to the actual buying lots of question marks do pop up. Anne-Marie, Zoe and Steve were the perfect answer. Excellent guidance throughout the buying process, always there at very late evening hours to give us patiently answers to another rain of questions. Even when we could only make it to Olvera between X-mas and New Year because of our jobs, when the office is closed for the Season, someone was arranged to welcome us and show us round a second time.
The actual selling and buying proved a real challenge when the bank forgot about their own banking rules. Zoe and Anne-Marie kept their cool and came up with an on the spot solution that satisfied seller, buyer and bank. This is an act of real professionalism which we will not forget as it really saved us from a very nasty feeling on a day we had been looking forward to for several months.
Thanks for your professional attitude. You guys never forget that you are dealing with real people, of flesh and blood. That personal and human approach is real plus. As a buyer, one is entrusting the agent with his hard earned savings. The entire OP team is well aware of that and fights to gain ones trust. They really DO want the best for their customers. We never got the feeling of buying forced into anything whatsoever. Although abroad, we felt at HOME …
Thanks guys and keep up doing that personalised work of yours.
Zoe and Anne-marie were (and still are) pillars of support, advice and reassurance. Their unfailing knowledge, legal expertise, and experience plus fluent Spanish, make buying a house in Spain a reality rather than a dream. Would I have taken the plunge without them – I doubt it!
Following the death of my partner I decided to sell our flat in Zahara, a daunting task at the best of times. Without the help of Zoe and her team I would have been completely lost, not only did they bring the sale to a happy and rapid conclusion, but the legal team were on hand to ease tax and death duty problems. It is impossible for me to recommend them too highly, in these days of uncertainty, to find such a completely honest and trustworthy firm is rare indeed.
I first went house-hunting in 2007 in Olvera and met OlveraProperties and as a result bought a large ‘wreck’, to reform. I loved that house and had a vision of how I wanted it to look from day one. This project happened during the financial slump, which was a financial stretch, but I still loved the outcome and felt that my heart was in it. In the meantime I found another project (a glutton for punishment!) which had the potential for those wonderful views from Olvera. Zoe and AnneMarie managed to sell the first house for me during this time, which was marvellous! AnneMarie then helped me with the reform of the second house which was a big commitment from her. Then my family and friends spent glorious evenings on the roof terrace watching Olvera’s magnificent sunsets and chatting to neighbours and their visitors – across the rooftops, which was special. (-:
On my retirement I recently sold the second house once again with Anne-Marie and Zoe’s help. All through this nine year process Zoe and then also AnneMarie have been there to help with the occasional issues as they happened. One important thing that Olveraproperties provided was continuity, not just during the purchase, but afterwards, right up until selling the property on.
…and now that I don’t have a house in Olvera, I miss the convenience of booking a break away whenever I feel like it and going to my own home from home. I also miss walks and bike rides on the lovely Via Verde.
Having spent much time in Spain over the years on our quest to find the ideal location to purchase a property. We discovered Olvera for the first time in March 2010 and our decision was made. With plenty of help and valuable advice from Zoë, 6 weeks later we were proud owners of a fantastic town house, with breath taking views of mountains, blue sky’s and sunsets.
Dear Zoe & Company,
2009 was certainly a banner year. Not just for you, judging by the positive notices in the Olive Press, but also for us. John and I realized a life long dream of buying a house in Spain and we found just the ticket with your help. We had been looking for about a year, but on the Costa de la Luz, and unfortunately found the places we liked just a tad out of our price range. Since we will be living on a fixed income when we move to Spain on a permanent basis we did not want to saddle ourselves with a mortgage and then worry about the vagaries of dollar vs. Euro exchange. And then, one lazy summer afternoon, John did a web search on properties in other parts of Andalucia and some of your properties cropped up, and, best of all, most of them within our price range. So we contacted you and made the supreme effort to come to Olvera for a look-see (Hey ! it’s hard work, but someone has to do it !) Make a long story short – we are now the proud owners of a lovely house(s) in Olvera (unless it has been washed away by the interminable flood), and as a bonus got to meet you and your family and Anne-Marie, who has been doing a splendid job of watching over the casita and putting things in order with the plumber, handyman, and several of the authorities dealing with gas, water, and electricity.
You certainly made finding our new home fun and exciting and also made the actual transaction straightforward and almost enjoyable. In all, we are truly glad that John found your company in his search
Thank you again for all your help. John and I are looking forward to our first tapas party and becoming full-time Olvereños in the not too distant future ! In doing so we will add yet one more Welshman to the contingent.
besos y abrazos
We recently bought our house in Olvera through Olvera Properties, and it has been a pleasure getting to know both Zoe and Anne-Marie. Both have been most kind and pleasant and made us feel safe and in good hands as we have never bought property outside Denmark before. With great patience they showed us many houses before we decided to buy our lovely house in Calle Jesús. At the same time Zoe and Anne-Marie introduced us to Olvera in a way, that we instantly feel in love with the town.
Anne-Marie has turn out to be worth gold for us, as we know very little about being a house owner in Spain. She helps with everything and both Zoe and Anne-Marie have become good friends, with whom we look forward to meet for tapas and wine every time we come back to Olvera.
If you consider buying property in Spain, we are happy to recommend Olvera Properties – We are sure Zoe and Anne-Marie also helps you to find your Spanish dream.
I highly recommend Olvera Properties, if you are looking at using a service that is professional, friendly and most of all trustworthy, then you can do no wrong. They really do go out of their way to help, and I don’t think I would have got a sale on property without them. I was in a position that I had to sell my home, but regrettably lived outside of Spain, and was not in a position to visit on a regular basis. Olvera properties looked after everything for me, and I couldn’t be happier.
We first visited Olvera in May 2009 and fell in love with the town and the beautiful surrounding countryside. We decided straight away that we wanted to buy a holiday home in the town and we contacted Zoe at Olvera Properties and told her what we were looking for. We found Zoe to be extremely professional, helpful and friendly and not at all pushy. Despite several “viewing days” we didn’t see anything that was quite right for us but Zoe was determined not to be beaten and carried on searching for us. We finally found our dream home, made an offer and completed within three weeks! Zoe made sure we were kept informed of what was happening throughout the purchase process and “held our hands” on the completion day. We can’t recommend Zoe highly enough.
